Goa to send status report to PMO on Keelings episode
Panaji, Mar 14 (UNI) The Goa government is likely to send ''status report'' to the Prime Minister's Office (PMO) and the Union Home Ministry on Monday on the rape and murder episode of British teenager Scarlette Keeling.
Highly-placed sources told UNI that the report was under preparation and would be ready by Monday for dispatch to New Delhi.
''It is a routine affair between the state government and the Centre, when any incident concerning a foreign national is involved. It is not something special,'' said Chief Minister Digambar Kamat here today.
It may be recalled that the mother of the victim had written a letter to the Prime Minister seeking a CBI probe into the alleged nexus between state Police and drug cartel which, she alleged, had a link with her daughter's murder. The issue was also figured in Parliament yesterday.
Meanwhile, the state police have been interrogating the two youths for their alleged involvement in the drugging, rape and murder of Scarlette, besides trying to find out the source of the psychedelic drugs.
