Editor of weekly arrested in extortion case

Mumbai, Mar 14 (UNI) The Editor of a weekly, ''Photographer'', and a staff were arrested for allegedly demanding Rs 50,000 from a sitting Shiv Sena corporator for not publishing an article against him.

Senior Inspector Krishnaji Gaikwad of M H B Colony police station said that as per the complaint, Editor Kiran Manjrekar (32), had demanded the amount from Shiv Sena corporator Bhalkrishna Mhatre.

Manjrekar had sent a staff, Sanjay Patel, to collect the money from Mr Mhatre, Mr Gaikwad said. So, Patel was also arrested.
