Court issues production warrants against Salem

New Delhi, Mar 14 (UNI) A city Court today issued fresh production warrants against underworld don Abu Salem, after Mumbai police failed to produce him before the court for the eighth consecutive time.

Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Sanjeev Jain directed the Jail Suprintendent, Arthur Road jail, Mumbai, to produce the extradited gangster on April 2. Salem is facing trial in connection with a six-year-old case of criminal intimidation and extortion from a south Delhi-based businessman Rajat Nagrath.

Salem was in the news last week after the governments of Delhi and Mumbai decided to withdraw cases under MCOCA against him.
