Council Chairman's appeal on illegal construction

Bangalore, Mar 14 (UNI) Karnataka Legislative Council Chairman B K Chandrashekhar today appealed to the state government not to take any hasty decision on regularisation of illegal constructions.

In a statement here, Prof Chandrashekhar said though the state government had modified rules following public protest against illegal constructions, it failed to take any affirmative action.

He said the government's decision to regularise the illegal constructions, after imposing a heavy penalty on the constructors, would adversely affect large number of people.

He urged the government to leave the issue to be sorted out by the next government.
