BEL pays 60 pc interim divident to GOI
Bangalore, Mar 14 (UNI) Defence PSU Bharat Electronics Ltd (BEL) has paid Rs 36.41 cr to the Union Government towards 60 per cent Interim Dividend for the current fiscal.
Mr V V R Sastry, Chairman and Managing Director, BEL, presented the Interim Dividend cheque for Rs 36,41,37,600 to the defence minister A K Antony in Delhi today.
This is the fourth consecutive year that the Navratna Company is paying interim dividend, according to a release here.
BEL has been making profits continuously for more than four decades. The company's dividend payment has been continuously rising and the company paid a dividend of 180 pc last year.
Last year BEL achieved a turnover of Rs 3,952.69 crore, with CAGR of 16 per cent over the last 5 years. 81 per cent of the turnover accrued from indigenously developed products and upto 85 pc of the turnover comes from products sold to the Armed Forces.
BEL has more than 350 products to its credit. Starting with a single Unit in the city in 1954, BEL now has nine Units across the country. BEL is ranked as 58th in the list of top 100 defence companies in the world according to 'Defence News' magazine.
