Zero FDI in Assam: Pradyut Bordoloi
Guwahati, Mar 13: Assam Industry Minister Pradyut Bordoloi today informed the Assembly that the state had been unable to attract any Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) so far despite all its attempts in the direction since 1995.
Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi had held investment summits twice in the United States while business promotion organisations, including the North Eastern Development Finance Corporation (NEDFi), had been promoting the summits both inside and outside the country. However, the results were far from encouraging.
Mr Bordoloi, however, did not elaborate on any causes for the present situation, even though almost all the other states of the country had been attracing huge FDI.
