ULFA militant killed in encounter
Guwahati, Mar 13 (UNI) A hardcore ULFA militant was killed in an encounter with the Army at Tengakhat in Upper Assam today.
Official sources said the militant was killed during a gun-battle with the Army near Hatigola village. A pistol and an IED was recovered from him.
Army officials further said the Ulfa militant had been triggering blasts at night for past four days.
The Assam Gana Parishad-led Opposition also raised the issue in the Assembly today but the government refused to issue any statement on the outfit's violence.
The AGP later told mediapersons that state government had 'completely failed' to maintain the law and order situation in the state.
