Three killed as train rams into car in Punjab
Ludhiana, Mar 13 (UNI) Three occupants of a car, including a girl, were killed when their vehicle was hit by a passenger train at an unmanned level crossing on the Ludhiana-Jhakal-Hisar section this afternoon.
According to police sources, the 6 LJH, Ludhiana to Hisar passenger train rammed into the car which was trying to cross the level crossing at Gill village, 8 km from here. The car which was dragged by the train to a few metres was badly damaged in the collision.
While two of the car occupants, 20-year-old Sarabjit Kaur and Manpreet Singh, both local residents, died on the spot, the third, Major Singh of Kila Raipur who was driving the vehicle succmbed to his injuries at a hospital here.
Police registered a case and handed over the bodies to the relatives of the deceased after post-mortems.
