SUCI and TMC to launch joint movement against CPI(M)
Kolkata, Mar 13 (UNI) In a significant alignment in West Bengal politics, the Trinamool Congress and SUCI today announced to join hands for a joint movement against the CPI(M) led Left Front Government.
Addressing a joint news conference for the first time, the Trinamool Congress chairperson Mamata Banerjee and Socialist Unity Centre of India (SUCI) state secretary Provash Ghosh said the movement would continue till the ouster of the present Government.
" Politically we are of opposite ideology. We believe in Gandhian thoughts and they (SUCI) follow the Marxist path. But the present situation demands all of us unite under a single umbrella to put an end to the attrocious rule of the CPI(M) which has thrown 'Das Capital' in the dustbin", Ms Banerjee said.
Workers of both the parties will participate in a joint non-violation programme in the district headquarters and across the state on March 27 and hold a mass convention in the city on April two with the 25-point charter of demands. They will also take part in a law violation programme in the city on April eight.
