SP trapped by Lokayukta while accepting bribe
Bangalore, Mar 13 (UNI) In a big catch, Lokayukta police today trapped a Superintendent of Police of Chamarajanagara District, while accepting a bribe of Rs 50,000 for showing official favour here today.
Addressing newspersons here Karnataka Lokayukta Justice N Santhosh Hegde said the Srikantappa the official was arrested after he was caught redhanded while accepting the bribe.
Narrating the incident Justice Hegde said the accused had allegedly demanded the money to close a case by filing 'B' report.
"The Lokayukta officials have also conducted raid on the two houses of the accused, one in Chamarajanagar (official residence) and another in Mysore," he said.
The raid was led by DIG Lokayukta Charan Reddy.
Meanwhile, the accused was admitted to a local hospital after he complained of high blood pressure.
