Sanskrit should be brought to common man: RSVP Chancellor

Tirupati, Mar 13 (UNI) Rashtriya Sanskrit Vidyapeetha (RSVP) Chancellor V R Panchamukhi today stressed the need to bring Sanskrit into conversation in society.

Delivering the valedictory address at the four-day All India Sanskrit Students' Talent Festival organised by the RSVP here, he said Sanskrit had to be brought to the common man's conversation tabler and every one should work on it.

To propagate Sanskrit, which was playing key role in the all sectors and reflected the glorious heritage of our country, all media channels should provide more time for the language in their daily programmes.

Forgetting Sanskrit was equal to forgetting our glorious heritage. Before freedom, all leaders had praised the language. Even Dr B R Ambedkhar stressed that Sanskrit should be adopted as an official language, Former Bihar Governor Rama Jois recalled.

It was unfortunate after Independence, Sanskrit was neglected and preference given to Hindi, claimed.
