RITES signs MOU with Namibian company

Mumbai, Mar 13 (UNI) Rail India Technical and Economic Services (RITES), has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Namibia-based Trans Namib Holdings for technical assistance on upgradation and rehabilitation works on existing railway and infrastructures including train control system using GPS-based technology.

RITES will also provide technical know how on rehabilitation of old locomotives, supply of new cape gauge rail cars, along with advisory services for Public Private Partnership (PPP), and training for commercial and operating staff.

The MOU was signed during the recent visit of the delegation led by Minister of Works, Transport and Communication, Namibia Joel N Kaapanda, added a release.
