Reference rate at Rs 40.44 per USD

Mumbai, Mar 13 (UNI) The Reserve Bank of India fixed the reference rate for the USD today at Rs 40.44, edged up by eight paise compared to its yesterday's rate.

The exchange rates for Great Britain's Pound and Japanese Yen against the Rupee were Rs 82.0669 per pound and Rs 40.42 per 100 yen respectively, RBI said in a release.
