Punjab govt may hike bus fares: Minister

Chandigarh, Mar 13 (UNI) The proposal to hike the bus fares in Punjab is under active consideration of the government, Transport Minister Master Mohan Lal told the state assembly here today.

Replying to a querry by Ajit Singh Shant (Ind) during question hour, the Minister said that a hike of Re one to Rs six for distances upto 95 kms from nine kms onwards is expected to be proposed by the Transport department.

However there will be no hike for distances less than nine kms, he added.
