Panel to sort church issue in TN

Puducherry,Mar 13 (UNI) The Archdioces of Puducherry and Cuddalore today constituted a nine-member high-level committee to deal with the issues prevailing at Eariyur in Villuppuram District of Tamil Nadu and sort the problems.

The committee under the chairmanship of Rev Fr Anthonysamy would visit Eariyur next Saturday,sources at the Bishop House said adding the committee was constituted at a meeting presided over by Rev Anthony Anandarayar, Archbishop of Puducherry and Cuddalore Dioces this evening.

Several decisions, including permitting a Monday Mass at the Sahaya Madha Church in the area dominated by the Dalit Christians at Eraiyur, were taken at the meeting.

Two people were killed in police firing to quell the clash between two groups of Christians at Eariyur last week.
