Over 300 activists arrested

Puducherry, Mar 13 (UNI) Over 300 volunteers of different political parties and social organisations were arrested today when they attempted to take out a procession to picket the Legislative Assembly, to press their demands.

As many as nine political parties and social organisations had announced that they would picket the Assembly to press for the resignation of Health Minister E Valsaraj against whom the Vigilance and Anti-Corrouption Police have registered cases.

However, police denied permission to them.

The volunteers assembled on the Lal Bahadur Shastry road and attempted to take out a procession when they were arrested.
