No-confidence motion against MP Speaker

Bhopal, Mar 13 (UNI) A no-confidence motion is being brought against Madhya Pradesh Assembly Speaker Ishwardas Rohani by the entire opposition.

Mr Narayan Tripathi (Samajwadi Party) informed the Assembly of the motion while Deputy Speaker Hazarilal Raghuvanshi was in the chair this afternoon and a debate was underway over the Public Health Engineering Department's budgetary demands.

''The motion is against the Speaker's wanton attitude. A notice -- signed by 25 MLAs -- has been handed to Principal Secretary (Assembly) A K Payasi,'' Mr Tripathi later told reporters.

In his reaction, Mr Rohani said, ''it is not a no-confidence but a confidence motion as it shows that I consider discipline as supreme while fulfilling my role.'' UNI SD-AC VD ND2050
