Meghalaya teachers to go on fast

Shillong, Mar 13 (UNI) Meghalaya Upper Primary School Teachers' Association(MUPSTA) will stage a hunger strike at Motphran here on March 20 in protest against 'state government's failure' to implement free and compulsory education for children up to 14 years.

The fast will be held between 0900 - 1800 hrs, MPUSTA general secretary Kenneth Shadap said.

A central executive meeting of the MUPSTA would also be held on March 19 to discuss the agitation and other related matters.
