Man jumps off Vidhayak Niwas, dies

Lucknow, Mar 13 (UNI) A man allegedly jumped to death from the Hussainganj situated multi-storied Old Councilers Residence (OCR) building, which has of late become infamous for such incidents.

Subhash Chandra Gupta (42) -- a shopkeeper in Lalkuan -- ended his life by jumping from the seventh floor of the Vidhayak Niwas.

According to police, Subhash had three daughters and was the only son of his parents. He was undergoing bouts of depression since last few months and had attempted suicide several times.

The OCR has recently become infamous for suicide incidents. Three people, including a couple, had jumped to death from the building last year.
