Innovative courses in 3rd phase of Chandigarh Edu City

Chandigarh, Mar 13 (UNI) The Chandigarh Administration has planned out some innovative courses in the third phase of Chandigarh Education City (CEC) to include latest trends in the industry and meet requirement of high quality human resources in contemporary world.

Leading institutes were expected to set up campuses in the Chandigarh Education City's Phase III.

The courses include product, fashion and interior design in the Integrated Design School, Theatre, film making and cultural studies under the Fine Arts, International Relations (both at undergraduate and post graduate level), Managerial and Business Economics, courses in Law including corporate law, international arbitration, human rights, integrated law course.

Courses would also be offered in Advertising and Public Relations, on Actuarial Sciences, Environmental Studies, foreign languages, Musicology, School of Developmental Studies which includes study of social development, formation and management of co-operatives etc., School of sports Management, Creative Art Management, Event Management and Property Services Management.

High-end courses like Hospital Administration, Management courses in various streams, Computer Science and other Engineering branches, Bio-technology, Multimedia and Pharmaceuticals, Tourism and Hospitality, Industrial Design, Media and Mass Communication were earlier approved for the Phase I and II of the CEC.

Administration envisages CEC to be a world class project with institutions of excellence in all areas of education, as per future requirements. World Class infrastructure and all the state-of-art facilities would be made available in the Education City. A gymnasium, a sports complex, an auditorium, serviced apartments and a commercial establishment would be set up in 20 acres, within the Education City. Individual campuses would also have hostel facilities for students.

Administration will provide education to the economically weaker sections and the disadvantaged with world class education at affordable rates in CEC.

The multi-institutional CEC at Sarangpur with a total area of 130 acres will be paradigm in providing assistance and low-cost-high-class education to those who cannot afford it, an official release said here today.
