hundred villagers today squatted
Barrackpore, Mar 13 (UNI) About hundred villagers today squatted in front of Sibdaspur Panchayet office under Barrackpore Block I in North 24 Parganas demanding jobs under the scheme of 100-day work which the panchayet authority denied.
None of the 600-job card holders was provided jobs so far by the Panchayet supervising the scheme, demonstrators alleged.
Incidentally, the chief of the CPI(M) led Panchayet Ramesh Chandra Sardar did not attend the office during the day while squatting continued till the evening.
