Mumbai, Mar 13 (UNI) Chief minister Vilasrao Deshmukh today said Maharashtra continues to attract huge investments and out of the 450 Special economic zones in the country, 128 are in the state.
Replying to the discussion on Governor's address, Mr Deshmukh said the industries are not facing any load shedding and the farmers should get the proper returns for their land when it is acquired.
He denied that the government was diverting money, earmarked for tribals, to any other departments. He, however, clarified that the irrigation, PWD schemes could be implemented in the areas where tribals and SC are more in number.
Deshmukh said the government will bear the fees of SC, ST students taking admission in private engineering and medical college and no student would be deprived of education on grounds of fees.
