HC summons UP Chief Secretary, DGP

Allahabad, Mar 13 (UNI) The Allahabad High Court has taken a serious note for the non-compliance of an order passed by it earlier for shifting the wholesale mandi of Kanpur Nagar to the new site at Naubasta.

The HC summoned the UP chief secretary Prashant Kumar Mishra, DGP Vikram Singh, secretaries of the Food and Civil Supply, home, law and commissioner of Kanpur division on March 17.

A bench comprising Justices A Kumar and Sudhir Agarwal also sought their explanation regarding non-compliance of its July 2 2007 order.

A division bench of the HC had directed the authorities to shift the wholesale mandis of Kanpur city to Navin Mandi Sthal, Naubasta, Hameerpur within one year.

Notwithstanding the Court's order, they failed to shift the wholesale vegetable market to Naubasta.
