Global recognition to Paramount Airways

Chennai, Mar 13 (UNI) Private airliner Paramount Airways has been awarded the ''Century International Qualita Era'' award in the gold category at the international quality convention in Geneva.

The award was received by Airline Managing Director M Thiagarajan at a function at Geneva on March ten.

The award was in recognition of its customer-oriented service excellence, contribution to quality, continuous improvement and customer satisfaction as well as improved relations with employees, suppliers and all those associated with the company, Mr Thiagarajan told reporters here today.

Replying to questions, he said the airline, after making its strong presence in southern India, would foray into Western India by connecting Pune and Goa by the middle of this year before expanding it to Ahmedabad and Baroda by the end of this year.

''By 2009, we will foray into Northern and Eastern India to have a national presence, before going International with flights to Europe, Middle East and Far East in October 2010 and extending it to the US in early 2011,'' he added.

There would be direct flights to Europe and US destinations from Chennai, Bangalore, Hyderabad, Mumbai, Madurai and Coimbatore.

The airline was also looking to increase its fleet strength from the present five to 40 by 2010 by inducting Airbus 330s and 350s and Boeing 787s.
