Gas leak after tanker overturns

Udupi, Mar 13 (UNI) A gas tanker today overturned on the National Highway-17 at Katapady, near here, resulting in leakage of gas.

Traffic on the highway was diverted following the leakage and fire tenders were pressed into service to prevent spread of the leaked gas.

Fire fighters told UNI that traffic could be restored in the area only by evening as plugging the leak would take time.

The entire area was cordoned off, they said.
