Foreign tourists to pay in Indian currency
New Delhi, Mar 13 (UNI) Foreign tourists will now have to pay in Indian rupee only, the entry fee for the ticketed monuments of the Archaeological Survey of India.
Ministry of Culture said in a statement here today that the foreign visitors would be charged Rs 250 per person for a visit to ticketed World Heritage Sites and Rs 100 for a visit to other ticketed monuments.
In another decision, the government has decided to charge the same entry fee as that of Indian citizens, to visitors from SAARC countries (Bangladesh, Nepal, Bhutan, Sri Lanka, Pakistan, Maldives and Afghanistan) and BIMSTEC countries (Bangladesh, Nepal, Bhutan, Sri Lanka, Thailand and Myanmar).
The entry fee for Indian citizens to visit World Heritage sites is Rs ten and for other monuments is Rs five per person.
