5 of dalit family shot dead

Lucknow, Mar 13 (UNI) Altogether five members of a dalit family, including two women, were shot dead in Etawah district of Uttar Pradesh late last night, police said today.

According to police sources here the attackers barged into a house in Ameenbad village and opened fire at the family.

Five people died in the incident.

A five-year-old girl, who escaped the attack, revealed before the police that the criminals had their faces covered with clothes.

Dispute over a piece of gram sabha land is emerging as the reason behind the crime, police added.

Meanwhile, a manhunt has been launched to nab the culprits.
