Vijay Mallya unveils Bangalore Royal Challengers
Bangalore, Mar 12 (UNI) Liquor baron Vijay Mallya today unveiled the Rahul Dravid-led Royal Challengers, the city team that takes part in the BCCI supported Indian Premier League beginning here on April 18.
"We have best batsmen, bowlers, allrounders and wicket keepers," he said.
The team includes apart from Dravid, the likes of Misbah-ul-Haq, Jacques Kallis, Ross Tayler, Chandrapaul, Abdul Razzak, Nathen Bracken, Virat Kohli and Anil Kumble.
Not really concerned that big stars like M S Dhoni or the Aussie 'biggies', Mallya, who owns the Royal Challengers said, "We are more than happy and have got the team we wanted. We have got world class players in each department and a right mix of experience and youth.
Our main aim is to play smart sensible cricket with a high degree of consistency." He knows that his players may not seem glamorous but believes that they are 'fantastic' in terms of cricketing talents 'which is what matters on the field'.
