Students' union demand relief for famine-affected people
Imphal, Mar 12 (UNI) The Hmar Students' Association (HSA) demanded from the Manipur Government immediate release of relief supply for the famine-affected people of Churachanpur district, especially for those from the interior villages of Tipaimukh.
''With no relief supply in sight even towards the end of the first quarter of the year, we are left with no option but to take a strong stand against this continuous apathy towards the people here, HSA vice-president Joseph Hmar today said.
The HSA also demanded compensation for the 2006 rape victims in Parbung and Lungthulien villages in Churachandpur district by suspected militants.
