RSS, CPM clashes, Kerala HC observations on Kannur rock RS
New Delhi, Mar 12 (UNI) Pandemonium prevailed in the Rajya Sabha for the third-day today over the RSS and CPM clashes and the subsequent Kerala High Court observations on Kannur, forcing adjournment of the House till 1300 hrs.
As soon as the Question Hour ended, BJP members, carrying photocopies of news reports of the High Court observations started raising anti-Kerala Government slogans and demanding dismissal of the Left Front Government in the state.
Disrupting the proceedings, the members, including M Venkaiah Naidu and S S Ahluwalia wanted a debate on the issue, for which a notice had been given.
But, Deputy Chairman K Rehman Khan did not allow the debate, trying to restore order in the House for the Zero Hour to be conducted. Then the BJP members trooped into the well of the House, forcing Mr Khan to adjourn it.
Over the past three days BJP and Left MPs have been exchanging angry words over the contentious issue, with each side accusing the other of murder and killings.
Yesterday, the Kerala High Court observed that the deployment of Central Forces was the only way to end ''bloody saga of RSS-CPM killings'' in Kannur in which seven people have been killed.
The Court had described Kannur as a place where ''manslaughter is a compelling sport'' and had come down heavily on political parties for trying to hoodwink the public on defusing the situation.
