Rasta Roko agitation by Dhobi community
Nashik, Mar 12 (UNI) Around 100-125 activists of Maharashtra Rajya Parit-Dhobi Samaj Seva Mandal today held a ''Rasta Roko'' agitation here at CBS Chowk to press for their demands.
The activists were however immediately arrested by the police.
The agitation caused traffic jam in the area for some time.
The various demands included inclusion of the Dhobi community (washerman community) among schedule castes and fulfillment of assurances given by Deputy Chief Minister RR Patil regarding the formation of a separate financial corporation for the community.
