Opposition stages walk out over Abu Salem issue
Mumbai, Mar 12 (UNI) The entire Opposition today staged a walkout from the Maharashtra Legislative Assembly protesting against the state government's affidavit in the designated court of withdrawing criminal charges against extradiated gangster Abu Salem, who is also an accused in 1993 serial bomb blast case.
The issue was raised by Devendra Phadnavis (BJP) during the Question Hour who said that the issue should be discussed.
Abu Salem is an accused in many cases including the 1993 Mumbai serial blasts, Mr Phadnavis said.
He was supported Shobha Phadnavis and Rekha Khedekar. However Speaker Babasaheb Kupekar said the issue could be taken up separately.
Protesting against the state government's approach, the Shiv Sena-BJP members staged a walk out.
