Mazrul Haque Univ to be functional within a year

Patna, Mar 12 (UNI) Bihar Human Resources Development Minister Vrishn Patel today announced in the Assembly that the Maulana Mazrul Haque University will be functional within a year.

Replying to a call attention of RJD member Akhtarul Iman during the pre-lunch session, Mr Patel said that the university, set up in 1998, had a committee headed by the state chief secretary to carry forward the project.

The university would be set up on the pattern on the international Nalanda University, Mr Patel said and added that the degrees for 'Aalim' and 'Fazil' would be provided.

To an enquiry by RJD member Shakeel Ahmad Khan on whether the government will constitute a committee of intellectuals for the university, Mr Patel said the university would bring laurels to the state.
