HPGCL to set up 1320 MW project at Jhajjar
Chandigarh, Mar 12 (UNI) Under its ongoing efforts to make the state self-reliant in electricity, the Haryana Power Generation Corporation Ltd (HPGCL) is setting up a 1,320 MW power project at Jhajjar.
The non-financial bids for the project have been opened and are being processed, Mr Ashok Lavasa, Financial Commissioner and Principal Secretary (Power) said here today.
The HPGCL has constituted a technical committee to ensure that the project preparation and implementation was transparent and strictly in accordance with the standard bidding guidelines of the central government.
The project will be executed strictly as per the National Tariff Policy framed with the objective to ensure reliable and quality power to the consumers at competitive rates. The emphasis of the policy was to promote competitive procurement of electricity by distribution licencee, facilitate transparency and fairness in procurement process.
HPGCL Managing Director Jyoti Arora said timely execution of the power project at Jhajjar will have a major role in bridging the gap of demand and availability.
