Groups clash over murder; 6 injured

Mirzapur, Mar 12 (UNI) Six people sustained serious injuries, when two groups today clashed over the death of a man, who was shot at late last night at Katra Kotwali area here.

Naseem Ahmad (35) of Imambara area was shot by unidentified assailants. He was rushed to Varanasi hospital in a critical state, where he succumbed to his injuries this afternoon, police said.

Irked over the incident, two groups pelted stones at each other and resorted to violence, injuring six people.

Swinging into action, district administration pacified the mob by assuring them of arresting the culprit at the earliest.

A large number of PAC and police were deployed in the area to forestall any fresh outbreak of violence.
