Goa SEZ issue under consideration of Centre
New Delhi, Mar 12 (UNI) The decision of the Goa Government for scrapping the Special Economic Zones (SEZ) in the state is yet to be endorsed by the Centre.
The matter was still under consideration, the Government informed the Rajya Sabha today.
Minister of State for Commerce and Industry Jairam Ramesh told the House in a written reply that a communication had been received from the Government of Goa withdrawing the recommendations granted by them for setting up SEZ, including the three notified Zones.
''The matter is under consideration in the Ministry in consultation with the state Government and the Ministry of Law,'' he said.
