Convergence Centre for IT conference in Salt Lake

Kolkata, Mar 12 (UNI) A state-of-the-art Convergence Centre with clear vision line design and equipped with most modern amenities was inaugurated today at the IT hub in Salt Lake.

West Bengal IT Minister Dr Debesh Das, who inaugurated the 150 seater Centre, said the facility would be available on hire basis to all IT companies for conducting their conferences.

'' The facility will be available to all IT companies, and, in particular the organisations in Sector-V for conducting their seminars, video shows and presentations,'' the IT Minister observed.

Dr Das said the Convergence Centre with latest acoustic facilities had been constructed by DPSC Limited, a private sector utility engaged in the generation, transmission and distribution of electricity in the Asansol-Ranigunj belt.

On the occasion, an agreement for purchase of solar power was signed between DPSC Limited and West Bengal Green Energy Development Corporation Limited.

Dr Das also informed that a grid connected solar PV power plant, the first of its kind in Southeast Asia, would be set up at Shibpur in Asansol.
