CD issue: FIR against private news channel

Basti, Mar 12: Police have lodged an FIR against three people, associated with a private news channel, in connection with the controversial CD named ''Teesri Azadi'' episode here. Superintendent of Police (SP) Dr Sanjeev Gupta today said the FIR was lodged against Salabh Mani Tripathi, Abhishek Upadhyay and manager of the channel late last night in Harraiya police station.

The police station in-charge had been given the charge of the probe. Besides, District Magistrate Saurabh Babu has asked Additional District Magistrate to inquire into the matter. Yesterday, the police had seized the CD from the house of Shivakant, the organising secretary of Bauddh Vihar. Besides him, Anil Tiwari and Ramfal Maurya were also nabbed from the spot. The CD contained objectionable remarks on Lord Ram and Krishna that mars the religious sentiments of Hindus.
