Army on mission to strengthen communication systems
Panaji, Mar 12 (UNI) The Indian Army's Corps of Signals has embarked on strengthening and modernising its communication systems, according to Deputy Chief of Army Staff Lt Gen S P S Dhillon.
He was addressing army officers after inaugurating the 58th Chief Signal Officers and Commandants Conference at the 2nd Signal Training Centre headquarters here today.
''The need of the hour is to develop modern communication systems, capable of providing reliable, relentless and real-time connectivity,'' Lt Gen Dhillon said.
The modern communication systems should incorporate necessary security elements to avoid threats. This has made the information and communication technology very complex, he noted.
Speaking on the occasion, Signal Officer-in-Chief Lt Gen S P Sri Kumar stressed the need for developing capabilities to face future challenges in military communications.
The three-day conference is expected to chart out the path for future progress and development of communication systems in the Army.
