All party meet on Kannur violence soon: CM
Thiruvananthapuram, Mar 12 (UNI) An all-party meet to restore peace will be convened soon in the in trouble-torn Kannur district that witnessed seven political killings last week, Kerala Chief Minister V S Achuthanandan said today.
After holding talks with leaders of the BJP and the RSS, Chief Minister told newspersons that the date would be fixed after consulting the leaders of other political parties.
He expressed the hope that political leaders would restrain from making provocative speeches on the issue.
Confirming their participation in the meet, BJP State President P K Krishnadas and RSS leaders said they wanted an assurance on organisational freedom and compensation to the next of kin of the victims of the violence.
Home Minister Kodiyeri Balakrishnan would also attend the meeting.
