Woman in soup for filing false rape case

Fatehabad, Mar 11 (UNI) A woman here landed herself in the soup for lodging a false FIR that she had been raped by two youths and tried to implicate her land-lady in the crime.

DSP (City) Nripjit Singh, who was investigating the matter, said here today on January 10, the 25-year-old woman, who lived in a rented accommodation in Lajpat Nagar along with her family, had lodged an FIR with the police alleging that when she, along with her land-lady Shakuntala, was on way their to fetch a doctor for her ailing daughter, two youths, who were acquainted with Shakuntala, offered them lift in their car.

She further alleged that instead of taking her to a hospital, the youths took her to a secluded room in the fields near a resort and raped her.

However, during the investigations it came out that the woman had made out a concocted story as she could neither show the place, where she was allegedly raped nor could she describe the two youths, who allegedly raped her.

Later, the woman admitted before the police that she had cooked up the story to implicate Shakuntala as she had a grudge against her.

A case has been registered against the woman under Section 182 of the IPC for filing wrong complaints and charging the two youths and her land-lady.
