Vigilance sleuths arrest Central Bank Manager for accepting bribe
Sheohar, Mar 11 (UNI) The local Branch Manager of Central Bank of India was arrested here today by Bihar Vigilance officials on charge of accepting bribe and amassing huge wealth disproportionate to his known sources of income.
Acting on a tip off that manager of Sheohar branch of the public sector bank Arjun Ram had demanded Rs 2,000 from a poor farmer for issuing a Kisan Credit Card in his name, a team of vigilance sleuths laid a trap and arrested Mr Ram red-handed, while accepting the previously marked notes in his office.
Later, the officials raided the branch manager's residence and recovered more than Rs 3,15,000 in cash and some valuables. Tomorrow he would be produced in court, official sources here said.
