UPA's fate to be decided on March 17: Yechuri
Agartala, Mar 11 (UNI) CPI(M) Polit Bureau member Sitaram Yechuri today said that the fate of Congress-led UPA government will be decided in Left-UPA meeting on March 17 next.
Talking to UNI here today on the sidelines of a victory rally of CPI(M), Mr Yechuri said that the Centre's determination to go ahead with the Indo-US Nuke deal will not save the country.
According to Left Front's demand, the Centre held talks with the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) on condition that it should return to them on March 17 before finalising any agreement.
Mr Yechuri said, ''The left parties are not interested to disstablise the government but if the Congress goes ahead with nuke deal then they will be responsible for any mid-term poll.'' The CPI(M) leader also said the accord, which requires international safeguards on 14 of India's 22 reactors, threatens the country's nuclear weapons programme.
