Ten dead, 26 injured in bus mishap in Punjab
Gudaspur, Mar 11 (UNI) Ten passengers including five women were killed and 26 others were injured when the private bus they were traveling in overturned between Dhariwal and Naushera Majha Singh on the Amritsar-Pathankot highway in the district this afternoon.
According to police reports the bus was moving at highspeed when it overturned due to the bad condition of the road. The bus was on its way to Amritsar from Pathankot.
While six persons scummbed on the spot, four others died on the way to the hospital. Of the injured, 12 were admitted in the civil hospital here while the remaining were admitted at a hospital in Naushera Majha Singh.
Four of the deceased have been identified as bus driver Surjit Singh, Paramjit Singh of Dhariwal and Joginder Kaur and Ajit Kaur, both of Batala.
