State Government ready to negotiate with striking teachers:Minister
Patna, Mar 11 (UNI) Human Resources Development Minister Brishen Patel today said the State Government was willing to negotiate with striking teachers and non-teaching staff of various colleges in the interests of students.
Making a statement in the House after the issue was raised by CPI(M) member Badudeo Singh, Mr Patel said the State Government was ready to negotiate with the striking teachers and consider their genuine demands.
He alleged that the previous government was ''insensitive'' towards the genuine demands of the teachers and said when the present regime was serious to redress their grievances, they had gone on strike.
Earlier, acting chairman Prof Arun Kumar maintained that the agitation was nothing abnormal in a democratic set-up and it should be taken on a positive note.
