Rupee opens flat at 40.48/49 against USD

Mumbai, Mar 11: The Rupee today opened almost flat at 40.48/49 against US Dollar as compared to its previous close of 40.4850/4950 in a fairly active Foreign Exchange (Forex) market.

After opening the day on a flat note, the local unit moved in range bound gap of three to four paise, tracking the movements in equity market, which recovered over 100 points after starting the day in red, dealers said. Indian bourses rebounded amid volatile trading session on positive trade in Asian market in the early trade. Dealers maintained that the Indian unit might follow the sentiments in the equity market.
