Polish nationals escape ULFA attack, one killed in Assam

Guwahati, Mar 11 (UNI) Two Polish seismic engineers miraculously escaped unhurt when ULFA attacked their seismic survey van, hired by the Oil India Limited (OIL), at Behetia near Duliajan of Upper Assam today.

The van was moved by just five metres, because of which both engineers survived.

ULFA, riding on the popular wave of anti-seismic survey, had banned the survey calling it ''exploitation''.

OIL was going ahead with the survey to find out more oil in Upper Assam.

In another blast, one rickshaw puller was killed and two others sustained major injuries when a powerful bomb ripped through the daily market of Doomdoma area.

The bomb was planted in the rickshaw, sources said.
