Polish nationals escape ULFA attack, one killed

Guwahati, Mar 11 (UNI) Two Polish seismic engineers miraculously escaped unhurt when the ULFA attacked Polish seismic survey van, hired by the Oil India Limited (OIL), at Behetia near Duliajan of Upper Assam today.

In another blast, one rickshaw puller was killed and two others sustained major injuries when a powerful bomb ripped apart the daily market of Doomdoma area.

The bomb was planted in the rickshaw.

In the earlier incident, the vehicle was moved by just five mt this morning and because of that both Polish engineers survived.

The ULFA, riding on the popular wave of anti-seismic survey, had banned the survey calling it as ''exploitation''.

The OIL was going ahead with the survey to find out more oil in Upper Assam.
