Opposition walks out of Lower House during Budget reply
Patna, Mar 11 (UNI) Dissatisfied with the reply of the Bihar Government on the budgetary demands for the Water Resources department and the recent killing of a person in Siwan, the Opposition today walked out of the Assembly during the post-lunch session.
RJD member Jagdanand Singh objected to the reply of Water Resources Minister Ramashray Prasad Singh and asked the government to reply about the reasons for breach in the embankments.
Other members of the party, including Mr Shyam Rajak and Mr Shakuni Choudhry, supported the move of Mr Singh and made vociferous attacks on the government for ''poor flood management''.
The RJD members continued shouting slogans against the government and walked out of the House.
The members of other Opposition parties also walked out of the Lower House during the reply of the government.
Earlier, Leader of Opposition in the Assembly Rabri Devi told newspersons outside the Assembly that the law and order situation had deteriorated in the state.
She said one person was recently abducted and killed in Siwan but the police despite ample proof provided by the victim's relatives did not initiate any action.
Her party member Abdul Bari Siddiqui had moved an adjournment motion on the issue, she said, adding Speaker Udai Narauan Choudhry, however, turned it down.
She alleged that the Speaker was invariably rejecting the adjournment motion and was not allowing the Opposition members to raise their voice on the issues of public concern.
Later during the post-lunch session, Bihar Energy Minister Bijendra Prasad Yadav made a statement on the adjournment motion of Mr Siddiqui.
The RJD memers, however, alleged that the government was ''misleading'' the House in the matter and staged noisy walkout from the Lower House.
