Mercury rises to 31.5 degrees C, though coolness in air remains
New Delhi, Mar 11 (UNI) After a drop over the last few days, the mercury in the capital city today rose to 31.5 degrees Celsius even though North Westerly winds maintained a coolness in the air.
The maximum temperature rose, from 30.4 degrees Celsius yesterday, to 31.5 degrees C.
Earlier in the morning, clouds over the skyline led to a rise in minimum temperature to 18.2 degrees C, four degrees above normal.
The rise in mercury notwithstanding, Northwesterly winds continued to maintain a cool air in Delhi.
The coming days could witness a further rise in mercury with the weathermen forecasting a rise in maximum temperature to 32 degrees C tomorrow and minimum to 19 degrees C tomorrow.
The met office has forecast a partly cloudy sky in Delhi during the next 24 hours.
